Come and join us for the 2008 University Night, co-sponsored by the OSCPA Emerald Empire LSA and the UO Beta Alpha Psi chapter. We are fortunate to be able to hold this event at the Club in Autzen Stadium. The Club level includes the skyboxes, and a beautiful open space that has a gorgeous view of the river. The Club level is not normally open to the public so it provides many of us with a rare view of one of the most beautiful spaces in Eugene.
Our speaker for the evening is Steve Miller a Senior Analyst and Adjunct Professor at the University of Oregon’s Warsaw Sports Marketing Center. This academic area has an international reputation for educating the next generation of sports marketers. Established in 1994 and now graduating its eighth M.B.A. class, the James H. Warsaw Sports Marketing Center is the premiere sports education and research program in the world and has become a model for sports-business programs in schools across the country. In fact, Sports Illustrated recognized the University of Oregon as home to the best sports business program in its October 7, 2002 issue. That program is the Warsaw Center.
Steve Miller is well known in the world of sports marketing, serving as former Director of Global Sports Marketing and a 10-year veteran of Nike. While at Nike, Steve served numerous positions including Director of Athletics, Director of U.S. Sports Marketing, Director of Sports Marketing for the Asia Pacific Region and Director of NCAA Sports Marketing. He also oversaw Nike’s $100 million investment in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
Steve’s remarks will be preceded by hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The University has adopted a no-alcohol policy for recruiting events which we wish to honor.
