Appointed Positions

President

(Elected Position)

General Responsibility

The President sets goals and manages the chapter in pursuit of those goals and represents the chapter locally, regionally, and nationally. The President must make sure all activities are sufficiently planned and encourage, motivate, and increase member and pledge participation.

Specific Duties

• Serve as President of the Executive Committee (all elected officers)
• Propose revisions to the by-laws to the Executive Committee
• Manage the chapter toward its goals
• Meet with the other officers
• Represent the chapter at all events
• Maintain the morale of the chapter
• Work with professionals, UO administration and faculty, LCB, and the accounting department
• Chair the initiation ceremonies
• Report on individual activities relative to the chapter’s goals
• Attend/present at national, regional conferences and other Beta Alpha Psi events
• In conjunction with the VP of Finance, develop an annual budget and present it for approval to the Executive Committee
• Prepare the non-financial portion of the year-end report
• Brainstorm ways to improve the chapter
• Perform other duties or delegate authority to others as needed

VP of Correspondence

(Elected Position)

General Responsibility

The VP of Correspondence is responsible for organizing and conducting weekly meetings and all chapter-sponsored professional activities.

Specific Duties

• Service as a voting member of the chapter’s Executive Committee
• Draft a quarterly and annual program of professional activities
• Arrange for rooms, speakers, etc., necessary to carry out the approved professional activites.
• Organize professional events

VP of Finance

(Elected Position)

The Vice President of Finace is responsible for the recording of all the Beta Alpha Psi finances.

Specific Duties

• Prepares a record of the finances for all chapter sponsored national/regional, professional, and service events
• Organizes and issues reimbursement slips
• Keep a record of reconciliation slips
• Organizes and keeps track of finances from membership
• Maintain the chapter’s bank account
• Discusses financial issues with the UO accounting department.
• Coordinates with Nationals about finances.
• Oversee the Green Team

VP of Chapter Programs

(Elected Position)

General Responsibility

The VP of Chapter Programs is responsible for finding, organizing, and conducting all chapter-sponsored service activities.

Specific Duties

• Beginning of the Year Report
• End of the Year Report
• National Regional Activities
• Volunteer and professional hours of the membership (twice a year)
• Read and understand the Program of Chapter Activities on the national website in order to follow guidelines for proper reporting.

• Oversee the Volunteer Committee

Vice President of Membership

(Elected Position)

General Responsibility

The VP of Membership is responsible for all Chapter membership activities.

Specific Duties

• Service as a voting member of the chapter’s Executive Committee
• Coordinate chapter recruiting efforts
• Process membership applications including checks
• Present membership and activity requirements to potential members
• Serve as the primary contact person for the members and pledges
• Monitor individual progress of members and pledges toward chapter goals and take necessary actions
• Locate and collect unpaid dues
• Recommend local membership requirements
• Verify pledge eligibility for membership
• Assist the President in conducting the initiation ceremony
• Motivate member and pledges to fulfill yearly hour requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by the president
• Oversee the Social Committee

VP of Public Relations

General Responsibility

The VP of Public Relations is responsible for the conduct of and/or participation in all national and regional events.

Specific Duties

• Responsible for the website and keeping it updated
• Make weekly flyiers to announce weekly meetings
• Arrange display cabinet and calendar on second floor of lillis
• Market and advertise for professional, volunteer, and social events
• Oversee the Marketing Committee

Volunteer Chair

General Responsibility

Organizing and recording all BAP sponsered volunteer events.

The Food Chair is responsible for the organization and money disbursement of all the food

General Responsibility

The Overall leader and informant on all VITA matters

Social Chair

(Appointed Position)

General Responsibility

The Social Chair is responsible for coordinating with the professionals and planning social events for BAP. This usually entails 1-2 events per quarter involving planning, securing a location, making food arrangements, informing professionals and members, and cleaning up after the event.

Specific Duties

• Using guidance from the President, draft an annual program of social activities and present it to the Executive Committee for approval.
• Search out opportunities to provide interactive and enjoyable chapter sponsored activities. This will normally require involvement with private, not-for-profit, and professional firms.
• Arrange for rooms, transportation, etc, necessary to carry out the approved social program
• Act as the chapter’s primary representative at social events and coordinate the socials provided
• Form committees and/or groups to help coordinate major activities
• Perform other duties as assigned by the president
