xACT Case Competition

We were excited to have the PwC xACT Competition this last fall, we had over 30 team compete!
We will hope to build on 2007's success this fall.
Who:
YOU! Teams consist of 5 students, including at least 2 sophomores and 1 junior. Remaining team
members may be sophomores, juniors, seniors or fifth-year (MAcc) students. All team members must
be enrolled in the first accounting courses or be an accounting major/minor at the undergraduate or
graduate level.
What:
Teams will be given 2 weeks during October to research a real world accounting and auditing issue which
will test their critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills. Because xACT is focused on policy
and planning issues, it doesn't require knowledge of detailed accounting policies and rules.
When:
- Info Session - (TBA in the fall)
- Mission Meeting - (TBA in the fall)
- Campus presentations - TBA (in the fall)
Why:
- ALL participants receive a gift of some kind. This year's gift has yet to be
determined, but in the past they have been gift cards to iTunes or Amazon.
- A winning team will be chosen on each campus and will receive $1,000!
- 5 national finalist teams (chosen from all participating Universities) will receive
$10,000 per team!
- Team with your friends to learn more about high level business issues!
- Build relationships with PwC professionals!
